I personally don't like her - I think there is something not right about her. I'm very suspicious of all the corruption issues in her political past. The pregnancy doesn't bother me, but it does bother me that she agreed to run knowing that her daughter was going to be thrust into the spotlight over this. I just don't see the family values in her that she talks about.

I think it humanizes her, actually. Hopefully it will make her more understanding. Knowing as little as I do about the situation, I don't have a good feeling about the daughter marrying the baby's father. I spend a lot of time with teenagers and it's hard to say which turns out best--getting married or not. Every situation is different.

Honestly, I think it was a little cavalier of Palin to accept the nomination knowing that her unmarried, underage daughter was pregnant. Like the media wouldn't latch onto it. It won't hurt her and it won't hurt McCain. The only person who will get hurt is the scared 17-year-old who's having a baby.

Given that it's in the spotlight, I see it negatively. Only because there are girls out there that don't see the bad side of her being 17 and pregnant..they just see that at 17 she's pregnant and will get married and have that happy little family. Some girls will follow that....plenty won't of course, but others will. Just like with Jaime Lynn Spears and a host of others who get so much news coverage for the things that they do; good or bad.

Teen pregnancy is unfortunately a large issue in society now and it's not going away anytime soon. I just hope young girls don't look at this and only see the "Cinderella" side of the story when considering their actions.
